The logo (for suppliers)

Information to be specified on your website

Retailers offering veterinary medicinal products in the Netherlands via a web shop must display the following information on their website:

• the common logo (please also see the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1904);

• This logo must be displayed clearly on every page of the website where you offer veterinary medicinal products. This means that the logo must be visible on every page of the website where consumers are able to add veterinary medicinal products to the shopping cart of the web shop. This is avoid the impression that the logo similarly applies to products other than veterinary medicinal products.
• For that reason, displaying the logo on the main page of your web shop is not permitted if you sell other products in addition to merely veterinary medicinal products.

• The logo must have a minimum width of 90 pixels. This is converted to 2.38 cm.

• The logo must contain a hyperlink to internethandel diergeneesmiddelen. Consumers will be able to access the Register for internet trade in veterinary medicinal products via this main page. The register is a list of all retailers who have registered for the Register for internet trade in veterinary medicinal products with the Veterinary Medicinal Products Unit. The register is updated monthly;
• You may not add any text to accompany the logo. This includes the contact details of the Veterinary Medicinal Products unit. The relevant contact details are available via the hyperlink under the logo.
• you may display this logo on your website after you have registered the use of the logo with the Veterinary Medicinal Products Unit.
• After registering with the Register for internet trade in veterinary medicinal products, the common logo must be displayed on the web pages where you offer veterinary medicinal products as a retailer.

The logo

There are two logos: a logo with an outer line, suited to lighter backgrounds (background colour of the website) and a logo without an outer line, for darker backgrounds. You only need to use one logo.

The logo must be displayed on all pages of the website that relate to the online sale of veterinary medicinal products. The Directive does not prescribe the location on the page the logo must be displayed. The logo must, however, be clearly visible. You should only display the logo on pages that deal with veterinary medicinal products and not on pages relating to other products. The logo should be displayed in such a way that it is clear that it only relates to the retail of veterinary medicinal products. This means that you must display the logo on every page of the website where consumers can add a veterinary medicinal product to the shopping cart of the web shop.
