Assessment report Refined echium oil, applicant Bioriginal Europe/Asia
A report on the assessment of the substantial equivalence of refined echium oil by the company Bioriginal Europe/Asia with echium oil already authorised for use in the European Union.
The refined echium oil can be sold as a separate product, or can be used as an ingredient in certain types of food products.
Based on this positive assessment report, the applicant can inform the European Commission about the marketing of refined echium oil, in accordance with article 5 of European regulation 258/97.
The Novel Foods Unit sent this assessment report to the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport on 14 October 2009.
