Assessment report Isomaltulose, applicant Mitsui Sugar Co Ltd
A report on the assessment of the substantial equivalence of isomaltulose by the company Mitsui Sugar Co Ltd with isomaltulose already authorised for use in the European Union.
The isomaltulose can be sold as a separate product, or can be used as an ingredient in certain types of food products.
Based on this positive assessment report, the applicant can inform the European Commission about the marketing of isomaltulose, in accordance with article 5 of European regulation 258/97.
The Novel Foods Unit sent this assessment report to the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport on 20 September 2007.
