The fourth issue of Regulatory Science Magazine is being launched today

The fourth issue of the Medicines Evaluation Board’s Regulatory Science Magazine is appearing today. The focus this time is on gender and medicines

This edition contains a more detailed report on the MEB Science Day on the theme ‘Is drug treatment gender-neutral? Gender during the drug lifecycle’. Dr Christine Gispen concludes that women are well represented in clinical studies of medicines. Both the MEB chairman, Prof. Ton de Boer, and Prof. Adam Cohen of the Centre for Human Drug Research (CHDR) respond to this in their interviews.

The MEB chairman, Prof. Ton de Boer, states that attention needs to be paid to Regulatory Science. “Our primary task is to monitor dossiers and assess medicines. But to do this properly, it's important – in addition to carrying out research designed to improve the benefit-risk assessment – to research the assessment system as well. That allows you to be critical and share this with the outside world.”
