Fourth issue of Regulatory Science Magazine launched today
The fourth issue of the Medicines Evaluation Board’s Regulatory Science Magazine is appearing today. The focus this time is on gender and medicines research.
This edition contains a more detailed report on the MEB Science Day on the theme ‘Is drug treatment gender-neutral? Gender during the drug lifecycle’. Dr Christine Gispen concludes that women are well represented in clinical studies of medicines. Both MEB chair Ton de Boer and Prof. Adam Cohen of the Centre for Human Drug Research (CHDR) respond to this in their interviews.
MEB chair Prof. Ton de Boer states that attention needs to be paid to Regulatory Science. “Our primary task is to monitor dossiers and assess medicines. But to do this properly, it's important – in addition to carrying out research designed to improve the benefit-risk assessment – to research the assessment system as well. That lets you be critical and share it with the outside world.”
This online magazine also contains recent highlights, interviews, pitches by PhD students and the latest information about scientific events.
